The Pinch Hotel Debuts 2 Restaurants, One New & Another Re-Opened

“Charleston, S.C. has an embarrassment of riches”. That’s how this article from Forbes starts. And sometimes those of us who live here need that reminder.

They’re referring to our historic landmarks, history and culture, and of course our restaurants.

And 2 more opened—well, in the case of The Quinte, re-opened—in The Pinch Hotel recently. Both helmed by a James Beard award-winning chef. Riches, indeed.

Owner Of Downtown Fitness Club To Build New Gym In Mount Pleasant

A downtown workout site owner who transformed an old warehouse into a gym is now planning a new ground-up fitness center at this location in Mount Pleasant.

We’ve heard great things about the quality of offerings and services at Ethos Athletic Club, located downtown on Huger Street next to High Wire Distilling. Joey Welling, the owner of Ethos, is a Charleston native and Citadel graduate.

And clearly the type of guy who’s unafraid of taking on big projects. Creating Ethos out of a former warehouse in rough shape wasn’t simple. Now he’s taking on building a new gym from the ground-up.

If you’ve been to Le Farfalle downtown, you didn’t come away disappointed. They have some of the best Italian food in town, in an elegant and beautiful environment.

Now the team behind Le Farfalle has opened Da Toschano Porchetta Shop, also downtown near MUSC. To call this a “sandwich shop” really doesn’t do it justice.

I mean, look at that photo!#!

Two New Clothing Boutiques To Open On King Street

King Street is like a magnet for unique, quality apparel retailers from out of town. And it’s landed 2 more.

Rag & Bone and Alice + Olivia will be opening in the 300 block of King Street. Don’t call them “chain stores”, though. That’s a moniker that’s often appended to brands that have more than 1 store. And we all know it’s usually said with a sneer.

No, these 2 are yet another testament to King Street’s ability to draw retailers that are Soho-level quality. They’ll open after the buildings are renovated.
