Downtown's first indoor golf club + new Malaysian restaurant

Charleston Happenings Vol. 57

Indoor Golf & Social Club Coming Soon Downtown

Another “first” is coming to downtown. Peninsula Golf Club is being billed as an indoor golf and social club.

They’re being coy about where it’ll will be located. Brilliant marketing move for a concept brand-new to town, by the way.

We’ll let you know when we dig up the location. 😉

Malaysian Restaurant Makan Releases Charleston Menu Ahead of Opening

We reported before about a new Malaysian restaurant coming to town from DC. Makan is gearing up for a June opening, and its chef/owner is starting to release details about the menu.

Check it out below.

New Entertainment Venue Planned For Mount Pleasant

If you’ve been to Greenville lately, you may have visited a food hall named Gather. Those owners—a development team that includes father and son entrepreneurs—have been scouting Charleston for a location for a while.

They’ve found it.

Located off Hungryneck Boulevard near Route 526 in Midtown, Gather CHS developers presented their plans to the Town of Mount Pleasant recently.

The multi-million-dollar project would sit on 5 acres. Developers said the venue will have a stand-alone restaurant, office space, retail space for small business owners, an outdoor common area, space for live entertainment, and a parking lot.

Folly Beach The Latest To Get Locally-Owned Coffee Shop

If you’ve followed us for a while, you know we need NO excuse to visit a locally-owned coffee shop. You may have also picked up on some snarkiness for the big, bad Green Mermaid.

We wear that proudly ‘cause CHS is full of great coffee shops that doesn't involve ordering by speaking faux-Italian.

We are very happy to learn there’s another great place to get a latte.
